Paul Brill

paulbrillSongwriter/Composer/Producer Paul Brill’s most recent recording, Harpooner, along with this original compositions for several acclaimed films, TV series and commercials, and an NPR theme show that youthful adventures as an herbal smokes salesman, street performer, valet, corporate errand boy, and a marine biology instructor can serve the creative spirit well. Harpooner is a thoroughly dismantled rock statement, on which Brill collages found sounds, jigsaw beats, and damaged vocals into unlikely pop hooks.

Paul’s original score for the HBO film, The Trials of Darryl Hunt, was recently nominated for an EMMY AWARD and was hailed by Variety as “memorably chilling, sounding notes of purest dread.” Young American Recordings recently released the Hunt soundtrack, curated by Brill, which features selections from his score and contributions by Andrew Bird, M. Ward, Califone, Mark Kozelek and Dead Prez, among others.

Paste Magazine called Harpooner, “Stunning,” and CMJ regards Brill as “one of the most sophisticated, yet subtle, indie songwriters around.”
